Right on Target: Labor Walks Draw Over 1,200 Union Volunteers Statewide

It is becoming more and more apparent each week that all of our hard work is beginning to pay off. The polls are turning around, putting this race at a dead heat. Furthermore, we are right on target for the number of member to member contacts we need to make before Election Day.

Our goal was to turnout 1,200 people per labor walk for the remaining weeks before the election. This weekend, the number of walkers was 1,232 with a total number of 43,000 doors being knocked on. Fortunately, the rain held out long enough across most of the state for this to be a highly successful weekend.

There are only 24 days left until November 3, 2009. This is the final stretch, and given the turnout we saw today, we as organized labor are going push our endorsed candidates over the top.
