Labor Campaign Brings Hope of Future Success

As evidenced by the narrow margin of defeat in the gubernatorial campaign, it is clear that solidarity is still alive and well in the Garden State. While we may not have been successful in the governor’s race, we were extremely successful in electing 39 union members to public offices ranging from the municipal level right up to the State Assembly. To date, the New Jersey State AFL-CIO has helped to elect 590 union members to public office.

We are also proud of the effort our affiliates and their more than one million members put forth in Get-Out-The-Vote Programs and other outreach.

We are looking forward to working with the members of the State Senate and Assembly – and our labor candidates – who support working family values. Together we are confident that we will be able to protect and even advance our agenda here in the Garden State.
