This year’s conference will center around a specific theme – the war on women – and will once again help to build leadership skills, develop professional networks, educate us, inspire us, advance the cause of equality, and provide us with useable tools to grow the labor movement.
We will be joined by a number of distinguished women leaders including AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Liz Shuler, National NOW President Terry O’Neill, and Connecticut State AFL-CIO President Lori Pelletier. Our program will also include an interactive workshop designed to enhance our understanding of the war on women and to develop useful strategies to bring about progress.
The primary goals of this conference will be to realize how unions remain one of our most valuable tools to overcome the war on women; we will also learn that progress depends not only on public awareness, but also on our own understanding about gender disparities and what we can do to overcome these challenges.
Please find a brochure for the 2014 WILD conference attached which includes registration and hotel booking information. We appreciate your ongoing support of the WILD Conference and look forward to another memorable and educational conference that will help participants to build enduring problem solving and leadership skills.
