The New Jersey State AFL-CIO wishes to congratulate Diomedes Tsitouras, Executive Director of AAUP-BHSNJ, on his recent nomination by Governor Murphy for appointment as a member of the Civil Service Commission.
Tsitouras’ nomination was filed with the New Jersey State Senate on March 14, 2019.
The Civil Service Commission is an unbiased, independent body that hears and rules on appeals filed by the state, county, and municipal civil service employees, candidates for employment, and appointing authorities. In short, the core mission of the commission is to advance New Jersey government with fair and efficient human resources responsive to the needs of the Civil Service workforce.
AAUP-BHSNJ recently affiliated with the New Jersey State AFL-CIO. As Executive Director of AAUP-BHSNJ, Tsitouras is responsible for the operation and direction of this professional labor organization which represents 1400-plus doctors, dentists, and other medical science faculty at Bioscience and Health chapters throughout New Jersey.
The New Jersey State AFL-CIO once again congratulates Diomedes Tsitouras on his recent achievement and thanks Governor Murphy for his nomination. We commend Brother Tsitouras for his years of service and dedication to organized labor, and we look forward to working with Senate leaders and the Judiciary Committee to advance his nomination through the confirmation process.
