TOOK ON CORPORATE GREED. As California’s attorney general, Harris took on big corporations to deliver relief to struggling homeowners. As vice president, she has continued the fight against greedy corporations that are causing inflation. (California Department of Justice press release, 12/20/12)

LED THE PUSH TO MAKE ORGANIZING EASIER. Harris led the push to expand workers’ rights and make new organizing campaigns easier. Over the past four years organizing victories have nearly doubled and Harris will continue to strongly support worker organizing. (White House release, 2/7/22)

CREATING GOOD JOBS. Harris has supported key investments in the American economy, including casting the tiebreaking vote to pass the Inflation Reduction Act. During her term, more than 15 million jobs have been created, including almost 1 million manufacturing jobs. (Department of Labor press release, 2/2/24)

SAVED RETIREE PENSIONS. Harris cast the tiebreaking vote to ensure that multiemployer pension plans would be secure and available for more than 1 million workers’ hard-earned retirement. She also cast a tiebreaking vote to save public sector pensions. (H.R. 1319, Vote #73, 3/4/21)

FIGHTING FOR WORKERS’ RIGHTS. Harris introduced the Domestic Workers’ Bill of Rights, which guaranteed domestic workers protections against harassment and discrimination, meal breaks and overtime pay. (Refinery 29, 7/15/19)

PICKETING WITH STRIKING WORKERS. Harris has walked the walk when it comes to supporting union members. She’s walked the picket line with striking workers and withdrawn from events rather than cross a picket line. (UAW release, 7/21/24; LA Times, 5/9/23)

LOWERED PRESCRIPTION DRUG PRICES. Harris cast the tiebreaking to lower the cost of prescription drugs, cap the cost of insulin at $35 per month, and set a maximum out of pocket cost for seniors’ prescription expenses. (H.R. 5376, Vote #73, 8/7/22)

SAVED ESSENTIAL PUBLIC SERVICES. Harris’ tiebreaking vote for the American Rescue Plan provided $350 billion in funding for public services and saved the jobs of America’s front-line public service workers. (H.R. 1319, Vote #73, 3/4/21)

FOUGHT AGAINST WAGE THEFT. As California’s attorney general, Harris aggressively cracked down on employer wage theft and other illegal practices. She worked closely with the U.S. Department of Labor to ensure labor laws were enforced. (California Department of Justice press release, 7/28/15)

CAPPING JUNK FEES THAT HURT WORKING FAMILIES. Harris supported the administration’s work to lower bank fees, fight back against airline industry fees and go after Ticketmaster for their unfair junk fees. (The New York Times, 5/22/24)
