New Jersey State AFL-CIO: Murphy’s Budget Puts Working Families First

TRENTON, NJ – New Jersey State AFL-CIO President Charles Wowkanech released the following statement in response to Governor Murphy’s budget address:

“The path set forth in the Governor’s budget address demonstrates that his administration is ready to make good on the promise to get New Jersey’s economy moving again. Through strategic investment in good jobs, education, career training, health care, and committing to fully fund the state pension system, we finally have a concrete plan that puts working families first.”

“Given the failed trickle down policies of the last eight years, we look forward to a plan that not only promotes equitable taxation to lessen the burden on our middle class, but also embraces new and innovative solutions to make sure New Jersey taxpayers are getting the best value for their money and New Jersey tax dollars go towards building our state.”

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO and its 1,000 affiliated local unions represent more than one million union members and their families, working collectively to promote middle class values at the workplace, in our communities, and through the democratic process.
