Join us for a Week-Long Picket to Protest Cami Anderson’s Attack on Public Education
Beginning this Tuesday, May 5, 2015, please join us as we stand in solidarity with students, community allies, teachers and education professionals to protest State-Appointed Superintendent Cami Anderson’s war against Newark public schools.
Superintendent Anderson’s Turnaround/Renew schools have been a categorical failure in every metric, yet she plans to expand the program to include eight more Newark schools this year. Students, staff, and the community have joined together to ensure that these failed programs stop now.
In the past three years, she has closed schools and given them to charters for pennies on the dollar, and forced corporate-driven reform on the schools and citizens of Newark. She acts without any input from the staff, students, parents, and community. She will not even attend the monthly advisory board meetings because she feels no obligation to listen to our concerns.
