The Kean University Board of Trustees plans to adopt a proposal to privatize over 100 good union jobs during its March 2, 2015 meeting being held in Kean Hall. We urge you to join with our IFPTE 195 brothers and sisters to oppose this destructive action which would have devastating consequences for workers, their families, and the university community.
The jobs that are at stake in the Grounds, Maintenance, and Auto Repair departments have afforded hundreds of local families the ability to sustain a middle-class standard of living. Adoption of this shortsighted proposal would not only devastate the workers, who would lose their jobs, but would also fill vacant positions with part-time, minimum wage, workers who have no ties to the campus, but will have access to campus buildings, including dormitories.
