The New Jersey State AFL-CIO mourns the passing of Hal Bozarth, executive director of the Chemistry Council of New Jersey and colleague of many of our trade unionists.
For more than 30 years, Hal was the voice of the state’s chemical industry as head of one of the country’s leading state trade associations.
A highly respected advocate, Hal was a longtime political insider and a true gentleman. He was instrumental in bringing together major labor and business constituencies and always worked to achieve compromise between economic vitality and environmental concerns.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
We offer our deepest condolences to Hal’s wife, Debbie, and son, Hal Jr.
New Jersey has lost a fair, balanced advocate for good public policy. He will be missed.
