The New Jersey State AFL-CIO is proud to congratulate our union brother, Anthony Verrelli, for his victory in Thursday’s special election for State Assembly, 15th District.
A respected trade union leader who advocates for fair wages, Verrelli is a lifelong union carpenter and president of Keystone Mountain Lakes Regional Council of Carpenters Local 254.
In a press statement before his election, Verrelli said, “If elected to the 15th District, I want to work with Assembly leadership to pass a progressive agenda of a $15 minimum wage, protections against wage theft and worker misclassification, pay equality for all and a statewide paid sick leave policy.”
This election marks 973 rank-and-file union member victories within our labor candidates program. The political program in New Jersey remains a model example of the power of the labor movement and continues to elevate and promote the voices of working people. These victories would not have been possible without the continuous and generous support of our affiliates, Central Labor Councils, and Building Trades Councils.
The New Jersey State AFL-CIO once again congratulates Anthony Verrelli for his victory and applauds his continued efforts to benefit the community he represents.
