The 2024 Election Results

Yesterday, it was announced that Donald Trump has been declared the President-elect. As we reflect on the results of the election, at the New Jersey State AFL-CIO, we would like to reaffirm our commitment to preserving our union values and safeguarding our rights as union members. We will continue to fight for a future in which all workers have the right to join a union, so that they have a union contract that is negotiated to include job security, overtime pay, better wages, healthcare, and retirement security. This goal remains unchanged, as does our collective power as union members. We will continue to forge a path towards equality for all working families, and we will continue to rely on our union leaders to guide us through these next four years, knowing that our union leaders have our backs.

Throughout this election season, we have met so many of you who were enthusiastic, engaged and hopeful. Once again, we would like to sincerely thank everyone for going above and beyond this year to get out the vote in New Jersey, including the Central Labor Councils, Building Trade Councils, state associations, affiliated unions and the thousands of volunteers from every sector of the movement. Each and every one of you made a tangible difference in this year’s election. Despite the results of the Presidential election, we’re proud to announce that all of our endorsed candidates were elected including Senator-elect Andy-Kim. We also elected 31 of our union brothers and sisters to local office who will continue to amplify the voices of working families throughout the state and in Congress.
