It is with deep sadness that the New Jersey State AFL-CIO marks the passing of Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey President Dominick Marino, a valued member of our Executive Board and a hero to every man, woman and child in New Jersey.
“His heart always was with the men and women who run toward danger when others run away,” said New Jersey State AFL-CIO President Charles Wowkanech. “His love of home and community shaped everything he did. He cared for family and friends, for the kids he coached, and especially for the thousands of firefighters and first responders he represented.”
President Marino, 61, was retired from North Hudson Firefighters Local 3950. He served honorably on the New Jersey State AFL-CIO Executive Board for more than two decades, and did likewise on the Saint Barnabas Burn Foundation Board of Trustees.
“Dominick was a brother among brothers,” Wowkanech concluded. “We will miss him greatly. Our prayers go out to his family.”
