A Message from County Candidate Tracy A. Smith

Tracy Smith is running for position of County Trustee on the PERS pension board.

She is currently employed with AFSCME Council 63 as a Staff Representative. Tracy retired from Warren County in 2020 as a Clerk Typist III after 27 ½ years.

Tracy is very active in her roll as a Staff Representative with AFSCME Council 63 New Jersey. Tracy has sat for the last 9 years on the PERS Board in the County seat. Working for Warren County for more than 27 years and having boots on the ground being involved with AFSCME Council 63 New Jersey representing members across the state, Tracy understand the battle we face in keeping our pension benefits and not allowing the politicians to cut or reduce the benefits we’ve earned and paid for upon retirement. As a Trustee on the board of Pensions they oversee the administration of the Public Employee’s Retirement System (PERS). At times establishing rules and regulations for the board’s and committees’ business and for the control of the funds created by the system. As a Trustee they ensure that the system is economical and uniform in its administration and that statues that oversee the funds are upheld.

Tracy resides in Warren County where she was born and raised. She currently lives on her small family farm in Warren County with her husband and daughter. She is a graduate of Warren Hills high school.

Tracy is involved in numerous other community activities including the Warren County 4-Hclub where she is member of the 4H Leaders Association. She is also the Chairperson of the NJ State 4-H Dairy Advisory council, Secretary of the NJ State Holstein Association, a member of the NJ Farm Bureau and sits as Secretary on the Women’s Leadership Committee, and a member of the Rutgers NJAES Board of managers representing the Warren County Board of Agriculture.Tracy is also a member of the Warren Hills, New Jersey state, and National FFA Alumni.
