Healthcare insurance, federal employee pensions and construction project funding are all on the chopping block
The House or Representatives will soon vote – perhaps as early as today – on President Trump’s budget bill. In addition to $715 billion in cuts to Medicaid, it will explode the national deficit by $3.8 trillion.
Significant cuts to federal worker pensions are also being considered.
The bill also will cut over $200 billion in federally assisted construction. This will result in the elimination of well over $600 billion in construction work that is covered by Davis-Bacon prevailing wages and currently requires the use of apprentices to receive the maximum tax credit.
