CODE-U: Three Ways to Vote

CODE-U: Three Ways to Vote

As labor leaders, we must urge all union member and their families to make a plan to vote in this consequential election. Attached please find a Code-U message with important resources and information for all union members on the three ways to vote.

Do you know how you’re going to vote yet in this election? With three ways to vote, it’s never been easier for New Jersey voters to access the ballot. There are three simple, effective ways to vote: vote-by-mail, vote early, and vote on Election Day.

In this upcoming election, the stakes are higher than ever before for union members, which is why as labor leaders, it is our duty to make sure that each and every registered union member, their family and friends know that we can vote-by-mail, early, or by Election Day. Together, we must stop the Trump agenda and protect our pensions, overtime pay, healthcare, job security, and fundamental rights as union members.
Vote-by-mail: The vote-by-mail ballot must be postmarked or placed into a secure ballot drop box by the voter within the voter’s home county by 8:00 pm on November 3.
Vote Early: Visit any Early Vote Center within your county from October 24 – November 1. Hours will be Monday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. and Sunday, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

Vote on Election Day: Traditional polls open 6:00 am-8:00 pm on November 3, Election Day.To see a list of endorsed candidates and more visit www.njunionstrong.org.

Attached please find a sample CODE-U messaging for your use. We encourage you, under your signature and union banner, to broadly share, send, text, tweet and post on your union’s social media pages through this planned and coordinated initiative. Please contact John Shea III, COPE Director, at cope@njaflcio.org or 609-989-8730 with any questions.
Working together, the voice of working families will be heard on Election Day!

In this upcoming election, the stakes are higher than ever before for union members. Our pensions, overtime pay, healthcare and job security, which we negotiated to be included in union contracts, can all be wiped out with the stroke of a pen, which is why the voice of labor must be heard in this election.
