ENTIRE HOUSE DEMOCRTIC CAUCUS CALLS ON TRUMP TO RESCIND EXECUTIVE ORDER TERMINATING FEDERAL EMPLOYEE UNIONS

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO today thanked the members of the House Democratic Caucus for supporting the basic rights of workers to be members of a union and to bargain collectively.  Every Democratic member signed the attached letter to President Trump seeking to rescind his EO.

“President Trump is now the worst union buster in American history. His EO stripping collective bargaining rights from over 1 million federal workers lays to rest once and for all any previous perception he manufactured as being a friend to American workers” said New Jersey State AFL-CIO President Charles Wowkanech. “I thank Democrats in Congress for standing with us against the President’s Executive Order and we call on all Republicans that consider themselves to be a supporter of organized labor to take action to restore these rights” he concluded.

Four House Republicans (Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa , Nick LaLota, R-NY, Michael Turner, R-OH Michael Lawler, R-NY) are sponsors of legislation seeking to rescind the EO. Additionally, 8 House Republicans, including Congressman Chris Smith (NJ-4) signed a letter to the President seeking the same action. To view that letter, click here.
