Our fundamental right-to-vote is under attack all across America. Many states continue to pass discriminatory voter suppression laws designed to restrict access to the ballot, and keep the voices of working people from being heard in elections.
While New Jersey is fortunate to have strong laws that assure access to the ballot, only congress can pass legislation to strengthen voting rights nationally.
Control of congress will hinge on competitive races, like those in New Jersey. You can help protect democracy by joining a labor walk.
Labor walks help educate our union brothers and sisters about issues at stake in the upcoming election, and the values of Labor’s endorsed candidates. Hundreds of volunteers dedicate their time each week to protect our democracy. We train new volunteers on the latest campaign technology and how to have effective conversations with other union members so that everyone feels confident and prepared for success.
Check out pictures from today’s labor walks below!
We greatly appreciate the efforts of our affiliates and Central Labor Council Presidents, who spearhead the walks every Saturday from now until Election Day.
You can learn more about our endorsed congressional candidates by visiting here.
We have endorsed 49 union members to run for congressional, county, municipal, and school board offices throughout the state. For a full list of our labor candidates and their values, visit here.
