The New Jersey State AFL-CIO today launched a massive door-to-door voter education effort as it worked to mobilize the members of our affiliated unions to support our endorsed candidates for congress as well as county, municipal and school board offices throughout the state.
You can help ensure that the voice of organized labor is heard from Washington D.C. to City Hall by joining the next labor walk. Check out the labor walk schedule here!
We would like to thank our Central Labor Council Presidents, who organized hundreds of union volunteers to visit union voters and their families to share information about why it is important to support the union’s choice candidates in the upcoming election.
New Jersey is host to several competitive US House of Representative districts where the votes of union members could be a decisive factor in determining who controls congress next year. To find our list of endorsed congressional candidates and learn more about their values, click here.
Additionally, we have endorsed forty nine union members to run for county, municipal, and school board offices throughout the state. In Trenton, we have endorsed four union sisters as candidates for city council, creating a unique opportunity to win a ‘labor-majority’ governing body. The labor movement is having a historic moment, and we have the power to determine the outcome of this year’s elections by joining your local labor walk and voting.
