New Jersey State AFL-CIO President, Charles Wowkanech, Supports JNESO, CIR, and AFSCME 1199J

Today, the President of the New Jersey State AFL-CIO, Charles Wowkanech, stood in solidarity with our union brothers and sisters in JNESO, Committee of Interns and Residents (CIR) and AFSCME 1199J, as they rallied to save Hoboken University Medical Center and Christ Hospital in Jersey City. Both of these locations are in danger of closing, jeopardizing the jobs of over 2,000 union members. Recently, CarePoint Health engaged in a round of layoffs, causing a number of union members to lose their jobs.

“We’re here today to support our brothers and sisters who are dedicated longtime employees of these important healthcare facilities, as well as the residents of Hudson County, as they stand to lose access to quality healthcare in their community,” said President Wowkanech.
