Please act now! Ask your senator to vote against the ban on shopping bags

It’s make-or-break for the New Jersey Senate to save paper bag manufacturing jobs in the state.

S-864 is coming up for a vote in the full Senate, Thursday, March 5, and it’s critical that it is defeated. Why?

This bill, if enacted, will ban paper shopping bags, plastic bags, plastic-foam containers and single-use straws, even though paper bags are environmentally friendly, are biodegradable and recycled, and are manufactured right here in our home state by union sisters and brothers.

S-864, sponsored by Sens. Bob Smith and Linda R. Greenstein, would throw these people out of work.

Please CLICK HERE to send a pre-written e-mail to your Senator RIGHT NOW to ask them to vote “NO!” on this important bill.
