President Joe Biden has wasted no time in signing the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan into law, affixing his signature to the historic COVID relief and economic stimulus package a day ahead of schedule.
“The New Jersey State AFL-CIO is grateful to our president for his leadership in bringing this much-needed assistance to all families quickly,” New Jersey State AFL-CIO President Charles Wowkanech said.
“With many of our union brothers and sisters still in need of vaccination, with many of them unemployed or under-employed, and with Sunday’s deadline for renewing unemployment benefits, President Biden clearly is making the best interests of middle-class and lower-income families his priority.”
Simply stated, the American Rescue Plan will bring America back to physical and economic health with vaccines, jobs, financial assistance, and reopened schools.
“But after a year of unprecedented hardship, we look forward to the next steps,” President Wowkanech continued. “Rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure will bring good-paying union jobs to New Jersey’s families. Final passage of the Protecting the Right to Organize Act will give Americans what they are asking for – the right to form unions.”
