President Callahan of Operating Engineers lifts Holiday Food Drive

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO is deeply grateful to James T. Callahan, General President of the International Union of Operating Engineers, for a $10,000 donation to Operation Feed Atlantic City’s Holiday Meal Drive for union brothers and sisters.

President Callahan’s generous donation will go a long way toward the success of these two food distributions – for Thanksgiving and Christmas – that will bring dignity, joy and hope to working families who have been struggling financially since the casinos and related industries shut down in March.

Since the layoffs in the spring, union brothers and sisters have supported each other as volunteers at regular food distributions. But with those regularly scheduled events now ended, the New Jersey State AFL-CIO and its affiliated unions wanted Atlantic City’s families to know their unions care for them, especially at the holidays.

President Callahan’s gift helps Operation Feed Atlantic City provide turkey, ham and all the trimmings to brothers and sisters whose tables otherwise might be empty.

Individuals or organizations can make the season bright for laid-off workers by contributing. Every tax-deductible dollar helps.

Please make checks payable to our 501(c)(3) account.
