The Assembly Labor Committee has just announced that it will consider very important legislation on earned sick time next week. Details are as follows:
Date: |
Monday, October 27, 2014 |
Time: |
10:00 a.m. |
Place: |
New Jersey State House Annex |
The New Jersey State AFL-CIO is leading the effort to enact this bill, which benefits workers statewide.
The bill (A-2354) sponsored by Assemblywoman Pam Lampitt and Assemblyman Raj Mukherji allows employees to stay at home when they are sick rather than go to work, and lets them take time off to care for a sick child rather than send the child to school because the parent has to get to work. This bill is a win-win for workers, consumers and our middle-class working families.
We need you to come to the Assembly Labor Committee to show legislators we support this bill. We urge you to testify in favor of this important piece of legislation.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on Monday, October 27th!
