The Labor Movement is the Engine of Democracy

Happy Fourth of July from the New Jersey State AFL-CIO!

The Fourth of July is not only a day to gather with family and friends, but to reflect on our legacy and history. This day marks the culmination of our Founding Father’s efforts to create a new nation grounded in democracy, with liberty, justice and equality granted to all. Throughout our nation’s history, the labor movement has been the engine of democracy, upholding the values of our Founding Fathers and ensuring that the voices of working families are heard and represented. Particularly, as the November election approaches, we must be sure to elect a leader who not only respects union values but is fully invested in seeing the labor movement flourish, so that democracy will continue to prevail.
