Two IUOE 68 Members Appointed to Public Office

New Jersey State AFL-CIO Celebrates 1,030 Labor Candidate Election Victories

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO is pleased to announce that our Labor Candidates Program has notched two more labor candidate election victories. Romaine Graham of the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 68 was appointed to fill a Freeholder vacancy in Essex County, while Jamillah Beasley-McCloed of the same Local was appointed to fill a vacancy in Irvington Council.

Sister Graham and Sister Beasley-McCloed’s appointments bring our program’s total number of election victories to 1,030. Both candidates will attend the New Jersey State AFL-CIO Labor Candidates School this August before standing for election to complete their unexpired terms in November.

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO congratulates Sister Graham and Sister Beasley-McCloed on their success, and we look forward to working with them during this coming election cycle.
