Union volunteers send labor walks soaring statewide

Labor Walks October 2

Union volunteers statewide distributed flyers supporting the election of Gov. Phil Murphy and all New Jersey-AFL-CIO-endorsed candidates on Saturday, October 2, 2021.

Union brothers and sisters who rallied for Gov. Phil Murphy before Tuesday’s debate increased their enthusiastic support for his re-election during labor walks statewide. Each week, the number and size of labor walks has been growing, thanks to the spirit of solidarity among the volunteers.

As these larger labor walks sponsored by New Jersey’s Central Labor Councils fanned out across the state on October 2, hundreds of union members from every sector of labor educated other union families about the pro-worker records and programs of Governor Murphy, Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver, and the New Jersey State AFL-CIO-endorsed candidates for state Senate and Assembly and for county and local elected offices.

The energized labor walk participants delivered timely information about how the endorsed candidates share our values and will continue to work for more good-paying jobs with job security, plentiful benefits and retirement security, safe workplaces, and effective education for everyone in New Jersey.

Vote-by-Mail is underway in New Jersey, with in-person Early Voting set for October 23 to 31 and in-person voting on Election Day November 2.

Come join our brothers and sisters on labor walks every Saturday morning through October 30, and on Election Day.
