We Will Not Go Back! May Day 2026

On May Day, we celebrate all that we have accomplished through our labor movement. Throughout our history, workers have fought for the right to organize, for an eight-hour workday, and for safe workplaces. Today, we continue that fight for a better future for all working people.

May Day serves as a powerful reminder that our solidarity is our strength. Our labor movement has been founded on the principles of equality, and justice for all. Every worker deserves to exercise their fundamental right to join a union, live without the threat of violence from our government, and return home safely from work. Regardless of where we were born, where we live or what kind of work we do, all workers are owed dignity with a sense of humanity.

It’s our unity that inspires and motivates us today, as we issue a rallying cry to all our one million members and their families to continue to fight the attacks on our rights as union members, our workplaces, and our communities. The attempts to divide us will not distract us from our common goals of protecting workers from unsafe workplaces and unfair labor practices, safeguarding our democracy, and creating an economy that works for everyone.

Together, we will peacefully rise up to defend our union brothers and sisters from retaliatory attacks of the Trump administration. We will protect our hard-won rights and forge a path forward. Together, We will not go back!
