Condolences to Our Union Brother Assemblyman Egan

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO would like to extend our deepest condolences to our union brother Assemblyman Joe Egan (D-17), Business Manager of IBEW Local 456 and chairman of the Assembly Labor Committee. Yolanda, his wife of nearly sixty years, passed away yesterday.

Mrs. Egan was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. A selfless and generous-spirited woman, she had been active in numerous charities in New Brunswick, including St. Peter’s Medical Center where she served as president of the Auxiliary and as a member of the Board of Trustees. She will be remembered with great fondness and admiration.

Assemblyman Egan and Yolanda met in their hometown of North Brunswick, NJ, and were married in 1959.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Assemblyman Egan and his four children—Joseph Jr., Kevin, Patricia, and Timothy—during this difficult time.

Further details regarding arrangements will be provided soon.
