Take Action to Support Affordable Health Care

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO Public Employee Committee has been active in the fight to stop the increases for health care premiums for public employees.

The State Health Benefits Commission recently recommended an astonishing 24% health insurance rate increase for local government workers.  This increase is significantly out of proportion to other large employers that are seeing on average a 6%-8% increase for 2023 rates.

A coalition of public worker unions including the New Jersey State AFL-CIO, AFSCME, IBEW, CWA District 1, FOP, IBT, IFPTE, PFANJ-IAFF, AFT, PBA and the FMBA continue to work toward a solution to this problem with the Administration.

There are several ways to engage in this fight for fairness! Call, e-mail and attend a rally. Go to www.affordablenj.org to learn more.
