Together, We Thank Our Veterans for Their Service

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO honors, thanks, and celebrates our veterans today and everyday.

Serving in the military demonstrates a shared commitment to our fellow Americans, our communities and the high ideals on which our country was founded.

The comradery and dedication to a higher purpose that military service requires is akin to the solidarity of our labor movement.

Perhaps that is why, nationally, we count 1 million working veterans as our union sisters and brothers.

In New Jersey, our Union Veterans Council serves as the voice of veterans in our labor movement, and we thank them for their incredible effort to engage and honor our brothers and sisters who served.

Just this year, the Union Veterans Council spearheaded our Labor 2022 program’s effort to get-out-the-union-veteran-vote by organizing text banks that made 374,043 contacts with union veterans.

Next week, we will continue our cherished tradition of visiting Veteran Memorial Homes throughout New Jersey, and sharing our time with them and providing them with gifts and union-made treats.

On behalf of the members of the New Jersey State AFL-CIO and their families, we wish our entire labor movement a happy Veterans Day, and humbly thank our Veterans for their service.
