President Biden Signs Massive Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into Law

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO praised President Biden for his commitment to and passage of this historic law, which is considered to be the largest single investment in infrastructure since the creation of the interstate highway system.  The law has allocated $12 billion for New Jersey.

We thank New Jersey’s Congressional Delegation who stood strong in support of the bill, with the entire delegation – both Democrat and Republican – and both Senators Menendez and Booker, voting in favor.

“Union jobs, plain and simple, have finally been delivered” stated New Jersey State AFL-CIO President Charles Wowkanech. “We are proud to see Congress and the Biden Administration finally deliver in a bipartisan fashion on a long overdue commitment to working people” Wowkanech concluded.

What’s in it for New Jersey?

Airport Improvements: $272 million
Amtrak: $66 million
Bridge Repair: $1.1 billion
Cyber Security: $17 million
Highways: $6.8 billion over five years
Lead Pipe Replacement: $1 billion
Mass Transit: $4.1 billion over six years
Electric Vehicle Support: $104 million
Broadband: $100 million
Ferry Service: $25 million
Gateway Project: New York & New Jersey: $8 billion
